Sandro Botticelli

Sandro Botticelli's most famous work is likely The Birth of Venus. This Italian painter from the Early Renaissance era belonged to the Legendary Florentine School which was under the patronage of the powerful Lorenzo de Medici.  It was not until after his death that Botticelli's work gained total public adoration. His works now represent the beginning of the Early Renaissance Paintings.
