nobilified - the art of gift giving

I'd like to share with you an example of what might well qualify as an early precursor of the Nobilified vision. It's a truly great example, still relevant today, of how the art of turning photos into oil paintings can make for a memorable gift.

There are not too many people, even two decades after it went into syndication, who don't know at least a little about Seinfeld and its long reign as one of the biggest hit sitcoms on television. Fondly remembered for being a "show about nothing," the misadventures of its cast of insecure and zany characters perfectly captured the awkwardness of everyday life. Every once in a while, they also captured the moments of true brilliance that we're capable of even at our most awkward.

Such was the case with one of the show's most famous moments, which gave rise to a "meme" before memes were called by that name. I'm speaking, of course, of the "Timeless Art of Seduction."

In the episode, of course, the phrase refers to one of George Costanza's countless painfully awkward moments: in this case, due to a series of post office-related mishaps, George winds up posing for a hilariously "miscalculated" photo of himself on a couch sporting a smouldering gaze.

In the episode itself, this was good for a memorable laugh, but what makes the "Timeless Art of Seduction" really fun and fascinating is the long and iconic life that photo went on to have. It as reproduced in many a print and poster, but there some intrepid artists added an extra layer of pathos by turning the photo into an oil painting.

That transferred image has had a long life in circulation on everything from walls to t-shirts and became an early proof of concept for what we do at Nobilified -- even if the gang at Seinfeld had no idea this was where it could lead. More than once, we've seen the "Timeless Art of Seduction" pose and concept replicated for humorous gifts between friends. And why not? Off-the-wall, or in this case on-the-wall, humour is one of the best gifts we can share with each other.

Join that spirit of wry humour with the skill and passion that Nobilified brings to the art of turning photos to oil paintings, and the results can be wonderfully and joyfully zany. In fact, you can see one of our takes on that very "The Timeless Art of Seduction" image at our gallery page. We're pretty proud of it, and of the spirit of fun and play that a Nobilified painting can bring to your wall, or as a gift for that friend or family member who's known for being a little tongue-in-cheek.

Of course, you don't have to strip down to your skivvies to get in on the fun. A look through our gallery provides plenty more examples of the comedic spirit at work from our creative and fun-loving clients.

This is just one of the many ways you can use our photos-to-paintings vision to create the kinds of gifts you and your friends will be sharing a smile and a laugh about for years to come. You can count on Nobilfied to produce custom oil portraits that tickle your funny-bone without breaking your budget.
